Swing at the ball, again and again

To practise hitting a ball, someone usually has to pitch it. This automatic baseball pitching toy takes that role: it releases the lightweight balls while the child concentrates on the swing and looks for the right moment to hit.

The pitcher is a tall, round red body on a small blue base. A badge showing a little astronaut decorates the front, giving it the look of a rocket. A blue ball cage keeps the lightweight balls ready for the launching mechanism.

A matching plastic bat completes the set. It gives the player a separate piece for practising the timing of a swing: you watch the ball leave, then try to hit it at the right moment. The white balls are light, which suits a game in the living room or the garden.

The base sits on a suitable, level play surface. Allow clear space around the player, then follow the supplied instructions for loading, powering and operating the toy. The photos show the game outdoors, on a field, and indoors, in a clear room.

Three options are offered. Standard includes the launcher, its ball cage, the bat and the balls. Remote Control adds a remote, alongside the launcher, the cage and the bat. 6 Spare Balls is a pack of six refill balls: it contains neither a launcher nor a bat and is meant to be added to a set you already own.

The photos show the set from several angles, in red and blue, with the white balls placed near the base. Take a look before choosing your option, then set up a clear play area and let the first player try the exercise.
