The drawcord adjusts the opening around the face, and the front flap folds down when you want to talk or drink. With the hood folded back, it becomes a fleece neck warmer.

In very cold weather, wear it in full with the flap up; in milder weather, fold back the hood and keep only the neck warmer. Under a cycling or ski helmet, check that the helmet still fits properly with the balaclava. Dark colours like Black or Coffee go with everything, while Wine Red or Purple are easier to spot on the slopes.
To wear it well, adjust the drawstring before heading out and set the flap according to the temperature: up in very cold weather, down in town. Pair it with a high-collar jacket for a neat look.
