For a balanced tree, start at the top and spiral downwards, keeping the battery box near the base so the switch is easy to reach. For a bow, form two loops, pinch the centre and let the ends hang. After the holidays, wind the ribbon around a flat piece of card to avoid tangles and find it ready to use the following year. Indoors, it also works along a mirror, around a doorway or inside a glass vase for a soft glow on a table.
